Angela, you had me a little confused when you quoted Ashley as having said “wee ones”, especially as she’s a Wee Gee (Glaswegian), but I knew what you meant.

She had actually said “weans”, pronounced “wains”, however, if she hadn’t said “weans “, she would probably have said “wee yins”, which translates as “wee ones”. The Scots also refer to some adults as “big yins”, and the most famous “Big Yin”, as he’s referred to in Scotland, is Billy Connolly.
