It’s been on my list since day one!!! I was afraid no one else would listen!!! Also her relationship with Lou Reed is amazing. I have been researching them both for the episode. I will definitely do it. Maybe for season 3!

Yes please, season 3! I have loved her music since I discovered her via Peter Gabriel in high school, and then her installations and shows and and and..... I'm counting down to season 3! (But enjoying the current episodes immensely.)

Loved this one.

Suggestions for next season would be electronic music, costumes, cons or ren faires, and video games.

Great ideas!

I have a few suggestions for season 3 episodes:

- Pride and Prejudice is Autistic, especially Mr. Darcy but also the whole Bennet family (I don't know, maybe you could say Jane Austen was autistic? I haven't read most of her books so I don't know. But here I'm referring to the 2005 film with Kiera Knightley). I say this because Mr. Darcy is misunderstood, does not have "the talent of conversing easily with people I have never met before," and in the scene where Lizzy meets him in Pemberly, he's doing a little hand-flicking stim...and then maybe look at Mrs. Bennet who's a ridiculous character but only because she's under so much stress, Mr Bennet maybe, and Lizzy herself, and this is getting really long, so, next one---

- Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon. I've said this before, but PLEASE please do it! There's innovation, justice sensitivity, social awkwardness, familial expectations, and best of all, the whole first movie is basically an unmasking journey where he (and everyone else) learns to love and accept him for his talents and personality and weird ideas.

-And finally, I've been reading The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells, and that's pretty self-explanatory if you've read it.

Just found this in Libby (the free library app) and am excited to start reading!

I'm also reading it through Libby!! I would have finished the series by now but all the audiobook copies are being used and there's a month-long waitlist for each book. It's the same with the physical copies in my library. Alas 😅 I'll get there, and then I'll buy the series for my personal library!

Hahaha yes! Audiobooks all the way and finding the patience to wait for your spot on the hold list...well, the struggle is real. LOL

I added them to the list!

Great episode!

Unrelated to the episode; perhaps the Jewish Talmud would be a good topic for an episode.

I may be wrong, though.

Interesting! What about do you feel is Autistic?

Now that it is more then a vague idea in my head I see I don't have enough information. I just thought specifically about the gmara, which from my ignorant perspective it's all about specific details and is partly about law, for the purpose of justice. Both of which seem to me to be autistic culture things.

Thought of a couple more ideas.

Stephin Merritt of The Magnetic Fields and The Gothic Archies (with Daniel Handler, who you’ve already done one on). He’s openly autistic and The Magnetic Fields’ music is dense with references and wordplay. Check this out: https://web.archive.org/web/20041014021150/http://69lovesongs.info/wiki/

Also, my wife and I watched Have You Got It Yet? The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd and got serious autism vibes from Syd Barrett. He was a toe walker, seemed sensory seeking which lead to all kinds of musical experimentation, and his clashes with the music industry folks trying to make him write more palatable stuff felt very PDA to me. I think a case could be made that he was going through autistic burnout when the other members unceremoniously dumped him. Also, the band is named after his cats who were named after his two favorite blues musicians, so that has to count for something
