I was obsessed with the show Legion, that makes so much sense why I loved it so much. Makes me happy to hear someone else love it as much as I did. I didn’t know I was autistic when I watched it. I only recently found out and self diagnosed after it’s become my special interest to learn as much as I can about autism and acceptance vs the “cure”. Love your podcast btw I’m obsessed atm 😅. It’s helped me accept my audhd so much. IMO best podcast about autistic people acceptance 👍💙😁🙌

I started listening the weekend of the 18th after someone suggested it in my professional life a few weeks ago. After 22 episodes I skipped to this one because I've always loved the X-Men animated series and just finished the new X-Men 97 and WOW. Hearing Magneto, Beast, Cyclops, Rogue, Nightcrawler, etc talk about being a mutant but thinking about it through the autistic and neurodivergent lens was so impactful for a show that was already impressing me so much. It made the mutant struggle feel so much more real to me.

My favorites had historically been Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, Beast, and Nightcrawler. But as I'm thinking about this, I actually think Morph might be my favorite. He's been through so much and not only does he use his powers to help the X-Men's mission, he uses them to help his family/team members heal and cope. I also LOVE that they dropped his masking to look like a human and allows himself to be himself, displaying his physical mutation to be authentically himself when not morphing.

Love the shout out to Cypher! He is criminally underrated...the notion that one could speak to and be understood by anything and everything is amazing. I have had a strong focus and reaction to comics and superheroes, especially those that show extreme capability, such as Mr. Fantastic, who believes himself to be "on the spectrum" but has never been diagnosed; or extreme adaption, such as Darwin. I especially like Darwin because of the passive nature of his ability. The notion that ones reflexive reaction is the correct one must be so freeing.

Dig the podcast.

I used the phrase "the notion" twice in 1 paragraph...sorry about that. (smile, wink emoji)

Loved this episode! I'd also recommend the Cerebro podcast's episodes on Cyclops and Sage, as they discuss how those characters are potentially autistic-coded.
