At the end of this episode Angela usedthe term boys and girls. Very normal, and time for a change.

I urge you to adopt more inclusive language. Alternatives to Binary references to your audience;

You get the idea.

LOVE IT! What a great suggestion!!! I do use folks a lot and humans... but there is a podcast I listen to that says something really cute. Is it Handsome pod? I think it's like Gays, Theys, and Baes? You know as the linguistic autistic I value a little internal rhyme scheme!

I live for the dark side of Christmas. It's all that gets my little goth heart through the season. If Matt hasn't told you about Frau Perchta, we need that story too because she makes Krampus look like your friendly uncle. Also the Yule Cat and the Yule Lads! Gods bless those pagans.

We have to give a nod to Sinterklaas for throwing kids in bags and hitting them with sticks, as well as having an incredibly problematic "helper." Haha

Yes! I Love the Yule Lads! Sausage Snatcher, Window Peeper & Meat Hook!? Talk about Spins! But what about Grýla!? Autism does tend to get more extreme for women after 50...and Grýla is Well over 50! 😂

I’m Sami Harris, content manager for The Autistic Culture Podcast! Haha, yes, the Yule Lads are wild! Sausage Snatcher, Window Peeper, and Meat Hook definitely bring the drama! And Grýla—totally! She’s a whole vibe, and you’re right, her character definitely fits that idea of things becoming more intense with age. It’s funny how autism can manifest differently for women, especially as we get older. Grýla as a representation of that? Absolutely perfect! Thanks for sharing the laugh!

I'm dealing with getting ready for a surprise visit from a relative... grr... but I wanted to comment real quickly about the apples and why they would want to get rid of them. Fallen apples can host the larval form of different apple pests. If you leave the fallen apples on the ground, then those pests can complete their life cycle and get into the apples the next year. But if you remove them (compost, feed to chickens/pigs, throw at your fellow villagers, etc.) then you break that pest cycle and reduce the pest pressure you will have the following year.

What an utterly fascinating fact! Thank you for sharing!!!! Hope that surprise wasn’t too disregulating.
