Today is the beginning of the Neurodivergent Narratives Virtual Writing Circle. The first writing assignment is below the paywall and will be accessible if you are a paid supporter so keep scrolling!
What is Neurodivergent Narratives?
If you want to be a better writer, or even want to write a book someday, this low-demand program is for you. This is a DIFFERENT approach to writing. NO Red Pens allowed! Even if your relationship with writing is complicated and making a commitment to writing is intimidating or stressful, I want you to know this will be a neurodiversity-affirming writing experience. There will be NO PRESSURE in this group and NO DEADLINES. This is just a place to channel your writing joy and dreams when it feels good.
Who knows, maybe you will write something you really like! And if you do, and you want to be a part of the CapStone for this program, you will have the option to contribute some writing to our Neurodivergent Narratives 2025 Anthology.
Your Path to Getting Published
Each weekly prompt has potential to turn into a personal essay, short story, or poem. Just being a part of the writing circle might inspire other writing. In 2025, we will be accepting submissions for our first annual Anthology which will be published at the end of the year.
Participating in the anthology will be 100% optional and we will accept any submission up to 5,000 words (about 10 pages double-spaced) that is connected to neurodiversity or Autistic culture. This could be a personal essay, a short story, a poem, a children’s story, or even a one-act play. You will have the option of using your own name or a pseudonym, if you prefer.
In order to participate and to publish you need to be a paid supporter.
